Project Managment
What is your general lead time?
We normally run on a 7 working day lead time from receipt of a CAD file and payment.
Can I get my work sooner?
sometimes speed is vital. To avoid interrupting our schedule, we only rush jobs out of hours. This naturally attracts a subcharge, but it's how we can help you without delaying any other clients .
Pricing
How will you work out the price of my job?
Price = design work (if any) + cutting + materials (unless you supply) + delivery.
How much do you charge?
Cutting is from £60 + VAT, which includes setting up and around 20 minutes of machine time.
CAD design work (if needed) is from £40 + VAT and is priced on a project basis.
Materials are charged by the whole sheet.
Delivery cost varies by location, you can also collect from our Cambridgeshire based workshop.
how do you work out cutting cost?
The cutting cost is based on time. Factors that affect the duration of cutting include the type and thickness of material, flipping boards over, and the length, diameter, depth, quantity, and variety of cuts.
Drawings & CAD Files
What CAD file formats do you accept?
We prefer to receive .dxf format but we can work with .ai .dwg .crv .dwg .svg .esp .pdf .svg
For more info read our CAD Files section.
Can you do my CAD drawings for me?
Yes, we will happily draw your cad files for you. Our aim is to get you ready for cutting though, rather than providing a stand-alone design service.
Capabilities
Can you machine both sides of a board?
Yes. We can flip any sheet to machine the other side.
Whats the largest sheet you can cut?
Our CNC can machine a maximum area of 2840mm x 1220mm. but this is usually dictated by what size material we can source.
Materials
What materials can you cut?
We machine a range of materials including mdf, plywood, natural woods, acrylic, polycarbonate, foamex, plasterboard, cement board, aluminium composite and aluminium. For a list of our most commonly machined materials, check out our materials section.
Are all your wood products FSC certified?
yes, we try to stay away from wood products that aren't FSC certified.
